Spicers Peak Lodge

The farm and its views are stunning, and the room was beautiful and clean. We spent two nights here for our 10th anniversary, and it was the best weekend away ever. Adrian and his team were phenomenal, the service was sensational, and nothing we asked for was too hard. Thanks, guys, for a great weekend. We’ll be back.

We picked Peak Lodge for our 10 year wedding anniversary because we wanted to spoil ourselves, and it didn’t disappoint. The food was lovely, and our beautiful room came with an infinity spa at the perfect temperature and spectacular views. From start to finish, the stay was amazing. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

It felt so welcoming throughout, and the place was accommodating and accessible too. There seems to be a really amazing group of people there, from the spa and food and beverage staff right through to management. The hospitality brings together QLD, Australian and international styles.

We were staying nearby and thought we’d stop in for a bottle of wine and a cheese platter, but we couldn’t get either. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were trespassing. We got a very uncomfortable “Do you need something” as a greeting. There were hardly any people around, but we were told we needed a booking. They said bookings were essential and they couldn’t do a cheese platter or even serve a bottle of wine. The manager wasn’t directly rude, but his body language and the way he spoke down to us suggested otherwise. We were told many choppers were coming in and they just couldn’t cater for us. Surely they could manage a bottle of wine at least. I’m pretty sure they thought we weren’t rich enough to serve. We walked out feeling the place was stuck-up and rude, clearly only for the rich. Maybe they should put a “no walk-ins” sign at the bottom of the hill. The road in was rough and corrugated, and not maintained at all.
