Albert Heights Serviced Apartment

I stayed five nights while my partner was in hospital, about a three-minute walk from Albert. The free parking at Albert saved us a lot of money, and the stay was excellent value. Anita at the front desk was friendly and so helpful. A big thank you to her for looking after us during the extended stay.

The staff were friendly at check-in and offered to look after our bags before the room was ready, but the cleanliness was below standard. There was blood on the bedroom mattress, one table lamp was broken, and the bedroom heater didn't work. Smoke from guests smoking downstairs came into our bathroom, and I wish staff had enforced the no-smoking rule in the building's shared areas. The room also had a terrible smell, like someone had cooked eggs that morning and nobody had done anything about it. We sprayed deodorizer and opened the windows, but it took two days to clear. If you stay here, bring some cleaning supplies for peace of mind.

I needed somewhere close to St Vincent's hospital for my partner's operation, and the location was ideal. The apartment was basic, but I wasn't in it much. Reception were helpful, the place was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a local IGA quite close for a few supplies. I'd stay again if I needed to.

For country people staying a few days near St Vincent's hospital, these apartments are handy, just around the corner. Our room was at the back, so we didn't hear traffic. The decor is a little dated, but the rooms are comfortable. Remember to bring your own face washers. Across from the entrance, an arcade has a fish and chip shop with great burgers and souvilaki, freshly cooked fish, and really nice potato cakes. A little farther along there's a pizza and pasta place, and I hear the pizza is good. The small IGA nearby has everything you'll need, including snacks, bread, and milk.
