People shouting in the hallways and banging on the glass made the place feel unsettling. It seemed many residents might live there long-term. I also found the elevator out of service, and the dust around it suggested it had been that way for some time. The vending machines only had warm drinks, with no cold options. At first the room looked clean, with the beds made, but closer inspection showed dirt marks and stains on the walls, vanities, and furniture. The bathroom was especially disappointing: there was visible mould in the shower grout, the wall soap holder was broken with sharp edges exposed, and the shower screen bracket was loose and didn't secure the glass properly. This wasn't the stay I expected, and I wouldn't choose to return.

East Melbourne has a lovely little vibe, and we enjoyed having restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The rooms at Sora were very clean, the staff were readily available and helpful, and we had a car park behind the accommodation. It was a great four-night stay near the MCG, about a 10-15 minute walk away. What a find, we'd definitely return.

Hari has been the highlight of our stay. As international backpackers, we've been settling into Melbourne, and he took time to get to know us and help us get established. He's handled any room issues kindly and made sure we had what we needed, going above and beyond to make our move here smoother. The rooms are pleasant and clean, with comfortable beds and spacious showers. There's laundry with washers and dryers, plus a lovely cafe next door for morning coffee. The location is convenient too, just a few minutes' walk from the tram into the city, which has helped us get to and from work every day.

The quiet location puts attractions, parks, and the city within easy reach, which worked well for both work and leisure. At Sora East Melbourne Hotel, the welcome was warm and professional, and check-in went smoothly. Staff were helpful throughout. My room was modern, spacious, beautifully designed, and very clean. The bed was comfortable, the amenities were thoughtfully provided, and the setup showed attention to detail. The stay balanced comfort and style with outstanding hospitality. I'd highly recommend it and will return on my next visit.
