The setting is peaceful and quiet, apart from the local kookaburra dropping by early in the morning to announce the day. There's plenty of parking and easy access to the road. We had lots of living space, good rooms and superb views, with all the features you'd expect in a modern kitchen, including a cooking range, microwave, refrigerator, hot water and a pantry stocked with food and groceries. It worked really well for a weekend away with family and friends, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet break from the city's bustle.

Our room was neat and clean, with a balcony view that made it feel like we were up in the treetops. It was a great base for a Puffing Billy trip. The hostess was exceptionally friendly, and there's a lovely shared space. The room has a TV and mini fridge, but bring your own hair dryer. Highly recommend.

Lee is a tremendous host, and Belgrave is a handy base, especially if you're driving. The Yarra Valley is an hour away, and you can also get to the NGV or make the trip to Ashcombe maze. The rooms are small, each with an en suite, but it's good value. There's WiFi, just ask Lee. It has a communal lounge and facilities for making breakfast, but it's not really a bed and breakfast. You won't get a smiling host bringing eggs on toast and lashings of bacon in the morning.

I was the only guest, so I had the whole place to myself. It's a lovely home, well appointed and laid out, with up to four rooms available. The setting is beautiful, and having breakfast and dinner out on the balcony was a pleasure.

We stayed overnight for a wedding at a local winery, and I was very disappointed there was no milk for coffee, either late at night or first thing in the morning. Other family members at different accommodation had a superior stay. Surely milk is a basic for the price we paid.
