Comfort Hotel Dandenong

The pool was relaxing, the gym had good equipment, and the location made nearby attractions easy to explore. Breakfast was superb, with plenty of choices and fresh coffee. Reception staff were friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and the place was spotless, with an elegant but cozy design. I really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality experience.

We left and booked somewhere else after less than half an hour. A man first came up to me in the car park, invited my children to his room and offered them drinks. We declined politely and he went away, but within ten minutes he was banging on our door, insisting the kids come play games with him and saying he would “give me dinner.” That was enough for us to leave straight away. We had planned to stay five nights with our family and dog. The non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the rooms and bathrooms badly need refurbishment. The only door security was a chain, and even that was partly broken. People were smoking nearby and drunk guests were wandering around, so we felt unsafe with our two children. We were charged for one night and refunded the rest. Staff said they had called police, but were vague when we asked what happened to the guest. I would not book this place if travelling with family or staying alone.

We'd stayed here a few years back and had a good experience, so we came again. This time it felt frightening and unsafe. People who seemed drunk or possibly on drugs were hanging around the car park, going through bins, and one was sitting by our door at 10 pm. As we drove away at night, one of them pointed at our car and said something threatening. We paid for a safe, comfortable night while on holiday, and this hotel didn't provide that. It felt more like a shelter than a hotel. I hope the service improves, but for now, be careful.

At Comfort Inn Dandenong (124-126 Princes Highway, VIC), loud shouting and other disturbing noises were frequent at night, making it hard to sleep or feel at ease. The atmosphere didn't feel secure, particularly for someone staying alone or for a longer period. The staff also handled my refund request in an extremely unprofessional way and communicated poorly. Based on my own experience, I wouldn't recommend it to families, solo travellers, or anyone looking for a peaceful stay. I hope this helps others decide before booking.
