Comfy, clean apartment with nice furniture, right between Fitzroy and two tram lines. I loved looking out over the inner-city suburbs. The garage is steep and quite narrow, and the stacker setup limits car sizes, so you need to prebook. A couple of tips for the app key: at the front door and elevator, holding your phone 15-20 cm from the reader seems to work, which is handy when you’re carrying bags. For the room lock, you need to tap or hold the phone against it for the app to connect and unlock. The apartment door closes gently without slamming or making noise, but check that it has actually shut and locked before you leave.

A relaxed, cosy place to use as a base for exploring the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome.

On earlier visits I had no complaints, the location was great and the apartment was clean. This time, though, I went three days without hot water. Each day I was told it would be fixed, but it never was, and I wasn’t moved to another apartment. They refunded me for one night. It made for a thoroughly forgettable stay, and I’ll look elsewhere on my frequent trips to Melbourne.

District Apartments in Fitzroy had the modern, minimalist style and accessible entrance and bathroom we needed for our long weekend in Melbourne. As a wheelchair user, I appreciated the wide doors and how easy it was to get around. The bathroom had a roll-under sink, and with my own shower chair it was fully accessible for me. Brunswick and Smith streets are just a short roll away, so the location worked well too. 10/10, would recommend!

The staff are delightful and incredibly helpful, and the location is amazing. Whenever I visit Melbourne, I stay at District Fitzroy. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped, and the place offers great value. I often recommend it to friends travelling to Melbourne.
