Mercure Portsea

It's a great spot for golf and the views. The rooms are pretty shabby, though. Online, it says you can get a king bed, but it's really two twin beds pushed together, with an awful seam down the middle. The shower setup lets water run out into the sink area.

We held our company retreat here for three nights and had a fantastic time. The setting is beautiful, with lovely views and a relaxing feel, and our rooms were excellent. Fabian, the Events & Operations Manager, was incredibly helpful with advice and support while we organised the event. The whole team went the extra mile during our stay and paid close attention to what we needed. A really great experience all around.

The view was incredible, and the welcome sweets and bottle of wine were thoughtful touches. After 42 years in Victoria, our first visit to Mercure Portsea was unbelievable. The staff were warm and proactive. We can't wait to come back. Well done to everyone.

I came to Mecure with high expectations because of its reputation, but the stay left me very disappointed. There was no robe, the air conditioner smelled of urine when cooling, the mirrors were unclean, the windows weren't clean, and a spider got into the bathroom. The walls were also so thin that noise carried loudly. We had to tell reception when we wanted to use the breakfast buffet, but reception was 10 minutes late. Breakfast cost $25 per person, the selection was very small, and the service was slow. The hotel had only a small range of amenities too. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Portsea. It feels like a golf club with a hotel, rather than a hotel with a golf club.
