Richmond Private Rooms @ 151 Hoddle Homestay

I was between apartments while moving out and looking for a new place, so I stayed for a week. Richmond private rooms was affordable for a longer stay, with a spacious room, a kitchen for cooking and a nice back area. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's a good fit if you're travelling and would rather put more money towards experiences than accommodation, or if you're in transition like I was.

I called late at night while struggling to find somewhere to stay, and felt cared for from the start. Patrick took my booking late, and within an hour I was checked in and welcomed at the door. He showed me what I needed to know and lent me a charging cord, a small kindness after a long day. Diana was outstanding too, warm, professional and welcoming. She told me about the area and helped me feel at ease in new surroundings. The next morning she checked in before my workday to make sure everything was right. Her care and attention really stood out. The stay exceeded my expectations. I had a wonderful experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place or stay again for work or leisure. I spent three days at this hostel and had a very pleasant stay. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and tram, so getting into the city was easy. Check-in went smoothly, and the accommodation was extremely clean, with spotless toilets and kitchen, great water pressure and everything you'd need. I'm not sure whether it was Patrick or Frank at reception, but he was helpful, observant and around whenever we had questions or needed assistance. He took good care of our laundry and kept our luggage safe when we left it after check-out. I definitely recommend it if you're after an affordable private room with well-maintained shared facilities. There is some noise from the road and nearby station, so keep that in mind if noise bothers you. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.

The kitchen was snug but roomy enough, with help-yourself cooking gear: kettle, toaster, pans, rice-cooker, cutlery, crockery, airfryer and two large gas stoves. Meals were awesome and catered for gluten-free and dairy-free needs. The hostel had a great welcoming atmosphere and was amazingly clean and well kept, with immaculate bathrooms every time. West Richmond station is just across the road, which is so convenient. Well done to the Hoddle Homestay team for making my stay so enjoyable and memorable!
