Sorrento Beach Motel

Adrian was easy to talk to and kept me updated. He even arranged to send some things I'd left in the room back to Brisbane. When I needed to move my booking at the last minute, he sorted it out. I'll stay again on my next trip.

A warning about leaving valuables behind. I stayed one night and left my new iPhone 17 charger plug and cord plugged in beside the bed. We checked out at 9:15am, and about two hours later I realised I'd forgotten it. I called Adrian and asked if he could set it aside in room 16 or mail it to my home at my expense. He said there was no sign of it and that he'd asked the cleaning staff, whom he said he trusted. He offered one of the old replacement chargers they find left in rooms, but my iPhone 17 needs the newer plug and cord, which I'd left in the wall. I know I was careless to leave it there. Still, I wish anything left behind would be put aside for its owner, whatever its value, instead of someone taking it and saying they never saw it. I feel a staff member denied having it, and karma will prevail. After reading other reviews, it seems this may not be the first time.

The manager was friendly and helpful, and the modern air conditioning and electric blankets were much appreciated in the cold weather. We were three couples and were happy to have our rooms side by side. There was enough porch space for us to set out all our chairs and sit together. The rooms were a good size, and I could happily have stayed several nights. The main strip is an easy 10-15 minute walk.

We found this a good-value motel, and I'd recommend it. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean, and town was only a two-minute drive away. Our February 2025 stay was just one night. One small thing: the sheets on the single beds felt a little grainy beneath the blankets, though the double bed was fine. We only noticed when going to bed, and reception had closed, so we slept on them as they were. Just passing that along as gentle feedback.
