Being able to walk to Olinda was a real plus. I loved checking out the local shops and cafes. The chocolate classes were fun too, especially making white chocolate with passionfruit, which is my favourite. Wild Patch Retreat is a peaceful, luxurious place in the Dandenongs, and Linda really does her best to make your stay memorable. The animals were a highlight: Patch and JJ are cuddly, photogenic and happy to be patted. I had fun with the chickens, though after meeting them I’m not sure I could eat chicken soup again. They’re exotic breeds with chocolate-related names like Calebaut, and some have long, soft feathers and funny fluffy “pants.” I’d never seen chickens like those before. If you’re thinking of staying, I highly recommend it. What a fabulous place!

The gardens we visited were memorable, and we also got to learn how to make exquisite chocolates. Our accommodation was first class, with quiet, romantic surroundings. We had a lovely weekend. Thanks, Linda. Michael
