Yarra Valley Escape

We stayed in this spacious, modern property the night before my wedding with one of my bridesmaids, then again with my husband on the wedding night. It's on a quiet street close to the Main stretch of Healesville, and was a lovely place to stay. Scott and Carmel were fantastic to deal with, and we also used their Yarra Valley Rides service for transfers to and from the wedding. I'd highly recommend Yarra Valley Escape to anyone looking for accommodation in Healesville.

After our wedding, Yarra Valley Escape was both a beautiful place to stay and the perfect spot to get ready. The house is quiet and lovely, but still close to the main town. It was clean and modern, with cozy fireplaces, comfortable beds, and an incredible large King room and ensuite that made the place feel luxurious. We absolutely loved our stay and can't recommend it enough. Scott and Carmel were lovely, easy to communicate with, and happy to provide things to make our stay special. We also booked transfers through their Yarra Valley Rides service and loved it.

Healesville is a pretty town, and the home itself was lovely: clean, cosy, neat, and close to cafes and shops. We really couldn't fault the place otherwise. What spoiled the stay was the owner arriving at the door without warning on our first evening, saying he needed to check the dishwasher. He opened it and shut it straight away, so it felt more like he was checking up on us. He also asked why one man and three women were staying for the weekend. I felt awkward and embarrassed. We'd paid in full upfront back in April, with no refund if we cancelled, and I didn't owe him an explanation. Still, I told him it was our yearly siblings weekend in honour of our brother who passed away. It left a sour taste for all of us. We left the house tidy, much as we'd found it, though we didn't make the beds. Towels were folded on the laundry bench, dishes and cutlery were washed and put away, and we wiped down the benches and tables. We did break a glass while cleaning and left a note saying I'd replace it if needed.

Scott and Carmel have a great place in a really quiet spot. You can walk easily along Smith St into the centre of Healesville. The open layout, separate bathrooms and well-designed kitchen made our four nights a relaxing Yarra Valley Escape Melbourne. Thanks, guys, we'll be back. And try to visit the Healesville Zoo. They've done terrific work during lockdown.
