Wander On Kangaroo Island

The view and surrounding nature made this a special base for exploring Kangaroo Island. The place was clean, well set up, and thoughtfully stocked. We especially liked having a full kitchen with a dishwasher, which made cooking for ourselves easy. The food we ordered was good and just as described, ready for us to prepare ourselves. There was a grill and some games on site, too. A welcome gin and snacks were waiting when we arrived. A really high-quality stay.

We had a great time at the Wander pod, but the final day put a damper on it. You sent my girlfriend a note telling her to “clean up,” which felt really inappropriate. Unfortunately, she and her friends keep bringing it up along with the fun and beauty of the stay. The nights and mornings get very cold, so thick bathrobes and slippers would help. We stayed four days and cooked for ourselves, but there was no trash can for rubbish when the bin filled up. One near the ash trash can would work. For stays longer than three days, it needs a cleaner to come in. Basic things like a hair dryer and ironing board should be included, too. There’s no TV. The scenery is beautiful, but when it’s pitch black at night, it’d be nice to have the option of relaxing with Netflix, red wine, and cheese. Apart from those things, the stay was great, and we’d consider coming again.

The bath was awesome, apart from the first night when it was blowing a gale, and we loved having the deck. We stayed in Columba for three days on KI and were really impressed by the facilities, comfortable beds, and great views. The provisions option was very good, too. It’s about a 1.5-hour drive from the ferry and a fair way from places like Flinders Chase, but this spectacular accommodation made the distance worthwhile.

We arrived at Pyxis for a much-needed four-day, three-night getaway and felt relaxed and at ease straight away. It’s peaceful and quiet, with luxurious accommodation and stunning views. The photos don’t quite capture how the place feels.
