Big4 Mildura Crossroads Holiday Park

We’ve stayed here twice, both times in a drive through powered site with an ensuite. The ensuite is roomy and very practical, and the amenities are clean and well maintained. Check in was friendly, with clear directions around this neat, spacious park. It’s right on the highway, near the shopping mall and pub, and within walking distance of the local mall. The city centre is a five minute drive away. You can hear some road noise, but it hasn’t affected our sleep.

At 44.1°C, the cabins we booked for twelve were far too small and stuffy, and the air conditioning in both was very poor, practically nonexistent. The place wasn’t very clean either. One older family member, aged 84 and vulnerable to extreme weather, became nauseous and nearly collapsed, so we had to move her to a friend’s house nearby. We also needed extra bedding, which hadn’t been provided. We arrived just after midday and couldn’t reach management. The emergency number went unanswered and was identical to the office number. For what we paid, we were disgusted with what we got. It was an atrocious experience, and we’re unlikely to stay here again. I’m writing this to warn future holidaymakers about how absurdly incompetent this accommodation was.

My wife checked in on 24 January with three of our grandchildren and found very substandard accommodation. The couch was covered in vomit, and the air conditioning didn’t work on a 40 degree day. After driving all day, she stayed, but otherwise she would have kept going. It was disgusting and a waste of money, and I doubt we’ll get a refund. Avoid at all costs. Across the road, Getaway Big 4 was a great experience. Don’t confuse the two, they’re worlds apart in cleanliness and hospitality.

There was plenty of space once we found the driveway. The caravan dump site was easy to access, and we could use three ensuite style toilet and shower cubicles.
