Discovery Parks Moama Waters

The weekend felt really special for our family and friends, and there was plenty of room for everyone. We were at Discovery Parks – Moama Waters to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with great amenities. The cabins, facilities and grounds were spotless and well looked after, and the park itself was peaceful. We couldn’t have picked a better spot for the celebration.

The water park and pools were freezing, even with the kids in wetsuits. Heating them in the cooler months would make a difference. We also couldn’t get two sites together, although we’d booked months ahead and asked several times. During our stay, there were lots of empty spots, including all three sites between us and our friends at one point, so moving a site or two seemed like an easy fix. Staff didn’t seem interested in helping. In fact, every staff member we met seemed disinterested, treated things as a hassle and didn’t engage with the kids when they came to the office for colouring comps. The facilities are great, but customer service was average. We were recommended the park, but with other options closer to town, I wouldn’t rush back.

The park is laid out really well and has excellent facilities. Our three bedroom room was absolutely huge and very modern, though it could do with better lighting. The ensuite was big too, but the shower cubicle was surprisingly tiny.

We got a text to say our cabin was ready early, and they’d already switched on the air conditioning before we arrived. Great service. The park feels modern and very nice, and the cabin was one of the best we’ve stayed in.
