The Spotted Chook

We were in the Loft, and even with other people around, it felt completely private. The views were fantastic, and the breakfast delivered to our door each morning was more than awesome. Our hosts were so nice, and the cat was adorable while the dog was thrilled to see us. Loved the whole stay and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Jane and Leeroy made us feel so welcome, and you could tell they put their whole hearts into looking after guests. They’re wonderful cooks, too. The view was beautiful and peaceful, and the quiet helped us unwind in nature. Our colourful room had everything we needed, with comfortable bedding and facilities that all worked well. We loved the long-weekend stay in this well-designed, well-kept house. It seems to have aged beautifully while holding onto its art, culture and history. The Spotted Chook and Amelie's Petite Maison will always have a place in my heart. I only wish we’d stayed longer.

Jane and Leeroy were lovely hosts and gave us useful ideas for things to see and do. Since we booked directly, we got two cooked breakfasts and breakfast baskets on the other days. The homemade granola, baked pastries and local yoghurt were my favourites. The resident cat was a sweetheart, greeting us every day. We spent five nights in the Buttercup Suite. It was spacious, with beautiful views and a relaxing feel. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was great on hot days, and the lounge with its big smart TV was a nice place to unwind. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The breakfast was divine, especially the croissant, which might be the best I’ve ever had. They also prepared a gluten-free option for my partner, which we really appreciated. Our rainy second day turned into a relaxing day in the Loft, which was very spacious and had surreal views. We’d seen photos before booking the Spotted Chook, but the place was even more beautiful in person. Such an incredible stay in the Hinterland, and a great choice for a relaxing getaway.
