The water view from the balcony was lovely, and it was pretty quiet during our off-peak visit. The air conditioning worked well. We appreciated the free pool towels, free parking, and the chocolate and two sodas left in the room, though I’m an Accor Gold member. It’s an easy walk to the beach and the shops and restaurants along the strip, but finding the entrance was a little tricky at first. The pool is nice, though it currently looks out over construction. There were a few small cockroaches in the room, and we couldn’t get Netflix or any internet app working. The bed linen had a couple of small stains, and there was general wear and tear, like chipped paint and skirting boards coming apart. Reception isn’t open after hours, and there’s no bar, restaurant or vending machine on site.

Our family of six had plenty of room in the balcony apartment. The outdoor balcony was huge, which was especially handy for the young kids to have space outside.

The view was great and the staff were friendly, but the bathroom needs an update. The ensuite bath, with its glass screen and door, sits about 60 cm off the ground. It’s not easy to climb into and would be very difficult for bathing young children.

We were sorry to leave and will be back. Room 206, the three-bedroom courtyard apartment, was huge, clean and very comfortable, with a lovely ocean outlook. It looked freshly painted and decorated, and had everything we needed. The heated jacuzzi and large outdoor area made it easy to settle in. For cooking bacon and eggs for six, an electric frying pan would have helped, since the BBQ only had grills and no plate. If you’re self-catering, some better salad bowls, cheese platters and cookware would be useful too.

The ocean view was fantastic, and the room was spacious. The rooms are a bit dated, but the quality is good. Best of all, you’re right above the shops.
