Dover Motel

I rented a room semi-permanently and found the owners coming in every day. I put up a camera to check. The place is overpriced and crawling with cockroaches. One got flushed out of my ear at the hospital, where I was treated for an infection, and I lost three workdays. The owner knocked $50 off the rent, but that didn't make up for the lost work. I can't shower because as soon as the water runs down the drain, a revolting smell fills the room. Cooking brings cockroaches crawling in, and they fall from the ceiling onto the bed while I'm asleep. There are mice running around too. The owner removed the air-conditioning fuse while I had a 38.6 temperature from the ear infection and was trying to cool down. I put it back, then heard it stop less than five minutes later. I looked out the back door and caught the owner at the power box switching it off. You feel severely spied on. It's cash only, with no EFTPOS, and the place isn't open all year. It seems more like a money-laundering operation for someone in Sydney than a motel, with dodgy receipts made for fake guests who never stay. You tell me.
