The Seabird

The decor, inspired by the seaplanes next door, is pretty amazing. We were welcomed warmly and the service was excellent. The kitchen and living area were extremely clean and felt very professional. The sheets and linen were hotel quality, five stars, and the bed was very comfortable. Thanks for having us. We’ll be back, and I’d highly recommend it for families too.

Tim was lovely and really accommodating. We booked at the last minute, but he helped us get in and settled. My husband and I spent four nights here, and we’d definitely stay again. The setting is beautiful, with a scenic five-minute drive into town and only about 20 minutes to Batesman’s bay and Mogo. The airport is very quiet, so don’t let it put you off. The hotel has a modern, classy feel, and the rooms are pretty soundproof. The blackout curtains make the whole room wonderfully dark. There’s also a beautiful communal kitchen that’s very quiet to use.

The river view was lovely, and it was easy to walk down to the river and boat ramp. Our large room faced a small road where cars passed now and then. The bed was pretty comfortable, with a choice of pillows, and the air conditioner worked well. The large toilet was good, with surprisingly nice shampoo and conditioner. There were good facilities in both the room and common room, though prices felt high. It also wasn’t as peaceful as I’d expected, with constant footsteps from guests upstairs.

The staff were extremely friendly and glad to help with our many requests. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. Downstairs, the shared kitchen and lounge had everything we needed, including a gourmet coffee machine we made good use of. We’d definitely come back.
