The price was $1200 for four adults and two small kids for seven days, and for that we expected a lot more. It’s an old, outdated three-bedroom house that was dusty and unclean when we arrived, with a mouldy onion in the kitchen. We had to bring sheets, towels, hand towels and tea towels. There were no toiletries or usual accommodation freebies, and the free postcards we were told would be there weren’t. It says it sleeps ten, but six of us just fit without being uncomfortable. The kitchen was impossible for all six to use or sit in, and the outdoor area only seats six. EDIT: This is the correct house. It was a birthday gift for my mum and me, so it wasn’t booked in my name, but everything here is true. The outdoor table only had six seats, nowhere near enough for twelve. At $1200 for a week, air conditioning and TVs aren’t really free; we paid for them as part of the stay. The outside wasn’t safe for kids, with part of the front fence missing and dodgy pavers out back. There was no usable BBQ, despite one being promised. Leaves covered the outdoor table, chairs and deck, and it looked like no one had cleaned in quite a while. There was no remote for the lounge DVD player. The brochure says guests are expected to put the bins out and bring them back in. The carpet was not new and was especially bad by the front door. A few things made the stay more comfortable, but offering only blankets as bedding is disgraceful. We shouldn’t have to haul six loads of bedding home to wash after paying for a holiday. There’s one bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet. To be clear, there’s also a separate spare toilet and a shower in another room. Six people sharing one bathroom sink isn’t comfortable.
