The view was lovely and the playground was good, but there were problems with the room. Our original room had been given to someone else, and the replacement was short on amenities. There wasn't even a mat for wiping our shoes, which left the glossy floor tiles slippery enough that everyone nearly fell. They also need to provide a spare toilet roll. Half a roll doesn't go far for four people.

We were so uncomfortable that we left after the first night, even though we'd paid for a second one, and drove home the next day. The room was gross: chicken skin from the previous guests, stained bedding and chair, mould in the shower, dust everywhere, and water damage on the wood. The heater barely worked and we were cold all night. There was no soap or milk as promised, and duct tape on the door. We could also hear people talking and the loudest footsteps ever from the room above us. When we raised the hygiene issues, we got attitude, and still didn't get the soap or milk we'd asked for. We'd stayed at four other hotels or motels on our trip from Victoria to Adelaide without a problem. The trip was great until this motel and its awful service.

The room was cramped, and the layout with a glass door opening straight onto the shower felt awkward. There was no sink outside the bathroom, and the bathroom sink was too small to fill the kettle. I was sharing with two male friends, so it wasn't comfortable. It's not the worst place, but bring warm clothes in winter. The heating didn't seem to work well, and I was cold almost every night even with multiple layers on.

There was enough kitchenware, but the motel's accommodation was still sloppy and below standard. The AC/heater didn't work, door handles were broken, toiletries were limited, including toilet tissue, and there was no water supply in the room. There may be better places to book in this area.

The customer service was good, and I liked the location near the umpherston sink hole. The room and bedding were alright for the price. There are a few things that need attention, though. The bathroom was really dirty, with a spider web and lots of stains. We ran out of cold water in the bathroom, but I didn't complain because I know they can fix it. Some plates and cups were chipped, so they need better dishes.
