Inland Oasis Motel

There were a couple of good points: pets are allowed in some rooms, and our shower had strong pressure with both hot and cold water working well. The airport is nearby, but aircraft noise wasn't a problem for us. It's also close to the highway without noticeable road noise. The trade-off is being a little farther from town and the CBD shops. The room needed a deep clean. There was mould and grime on the shower tiles, and flies, bugs and cobwebs in both the ensuite and bedroom. The mattress and pillows were extremely hard, like sleeping on the floor with a pillowcase full of books. The box air conditioner struggled even though it was running when we checked in around 6 pm. It never got below 23°C, which we saw around 4 am. There was no ceiling or pedestal fan, no extra pillows or linen, and no microwave. Cutlery amounted to two plastic spoons.

Absolutely revolting. The bed was covered in hair (see pics), the bins were overflowing, and I don't even want to think about what's under the beds. I regret not pushing on to the next town, even though Mount Isa was pretty booked up. Sleeping by the roadside would've felt cleaner than this dump.

My family and I were disgusted by what we saw throughout the place. The rooms were dirty and didn't meet a safe, sanitary standard. There was leftover food in our fridge, stains on the toilet bowl, and mould marks on the shower walls. The mattress felt like a brick, and the one pillow each was thin and barely filled. The microwave took ages to heat a small meal, and the kettle was filthy. The advertised pool was only half full, with brown water and moss, so I brought my swimmers for nothing. The washing machines weren't working and had cobwebs inside. If you're hoping for a good stay in Mount Isa, this isn't the accommodation I'd choose.

The Chinese restaurant at the hotel was lovely, with amazing food, and the staff were very accommodating about our long, large trailer. Our room was dated but clean and tidy, and much bigger than expected. The super king bed was very comfortable. We only stayed overnight, but I'd definitely come back.
