Irish Club Accommodation

For $55 a night on Expedia, I thought it was good value and would consider staying again. I'd bring ear plugs next time, though. Neighbours were often up early for work, and while I didn't hear talking, I could hear muffled noise through the walls, then a vacuum and washing machine before 7am. You could also hear dogs barking now and then at night, a stray cat on heat and the occasional train horn going off a few times. The accommodation itself was clean, safe and comfortable, and satisfactory for what you pay. I stayed earlier last week, in June 2019. The Sunday night all you can eat buffet was good.

The room was in such bad shape that it would take tradespeople, not housekeeping, to fix it. There was mould on the carpet, bed and air-conditioner system, rotten milk and eggs on the carpet and in the fridge, other food rotting on the walls, a broken window, holes in the wall, and dirty carpet and walls. Robyn the manger had asked me to move all my belongings into that room, saying housekeeping would clean it up and get it ready the next day. I didn't feel comfortable moving in, and she didn't understand why, then became very rude and threatening towards me. I've never had such bad customer service, and I don't recommend staying here. I have more photos and a video tour showing the state of the accommodation.

The room and toilet were nice and clean, and it was pretty cheap. Wifi was disappointing, though. I couldn't connect from the room and had to go near the swimming pool to get a signal.

There are beds, but this is very basic accommodation. The pool had dead frogs, wifi was limited and slow, the trains were noisy, and the walls are paper thin.
