Bridgeport Hotel

We ordered room service for dinner, and it was delicious. Breakfast in the restaurant was just as good. The Farmers breakfast was huge and cooked perfectly, and the coffee was top notch. After a long drive, we were greeted warmly at reception. Kane was terrific during check in, polite and clear about everything we needed to know. Our room at Bridgeport was spacious, modern and well laid out, with a great shower and a very comfortable bed. All the staff were polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We couldn’t fault the stay, and plan to return with more time to spend around Murray Bridge.

The room itself was lovely, cozy and secure, with everything we needed. It was close to the pool, gym and bar. But joining two single beds together made sleeping really uncomfortable, and we fell into the gap several times in one night. Housekeeping was poor after the first two nights. We ran out of toilet paper, towels and amenities, and calls to reception didn’t get the problem sorted. On our last night, we called again and were told the room would be serviced at 1pm. We went out for the day, but nothing had been done when we returned. We had no supplies, and after using the pool had nothing dry to use. When we called again, a cleaner arrived less than five minutes after we’d specifically asked for at least 30 minutes so my friend could get dressed after showering. He was very pushy and judgmental about how we kept the room, and got agitated when we wouldn’t let him in while my friend was still showering. I had to collect the amenities from him in the hallway. For what we paid, I expected daily cleaning, especially after calling reception several times. Communication and housekeeping need serious improvement.

We spent 5 nights at the Bridgeport Hotel and had a great time. There was lots of space to relax, lovely views and a nice atmosphere. The food and drinks were good, and staff were friendly and quick with service. A good choice for a longer stay or just one night away. Definitely worth checking out.

Our first stay was on the way to mt Gambier, and we liked it enough to stop again on our way home to Adelaide. It’s become our favourite getaway, and we’ll definitely return. The water facing balcony room was amazing, and I’m glad it was recommended to us. The views were beautiful, breakfast had lots of different varieties and tasted delicious, and the service was fantastic. Well done to all the staff at the bridgeport for such a beautiful hotel. We can’t wait to stay again.
