Wilkadene Cottage

The brewery is only meters from the cottage, but visitors didn’t disturb us. We did go over and enjoyed the hard lemonade. We used our River Revival voucher for the stay and loved the cottage. There was lots of outdoor space, and the fire pit was a lovely touch on a cool night. The five of us were comfortable, the beds were really comfy, and heaters in the bedrooms were handy if needed. We usually visit the Riverland in summer, but winter was stunning too. Fallen leaves made a beautiful yellow carpet across the back lawn, and my granddaughter loved checking the chickens’ nesting boxes. She found 2 eggs and ate them for breakfast. Loved everything about the stay.

There’s everything you need in the house, though keep in mind there’s only 1 bathroom. It’s a peaceful spot right on the river, with beautiful gardens and a great outdoor area with a fire pit and bbq. It sleeps 6, pets are welcome, and the brewery is just next door. The owners were friendly and helpful.

The brewery next door had a nice drop of hard lemonade. We spent 3 lovely nights here, and July brought perfect weather. The cottage and its location were the best, and they think of everything.

It’s a quiet, peaceful stretch of the Murray River, great for relaxing, bird watching and fishing. Taking a houseboat trip is an amazing way to explore the beauty of the area. Watch out for mobile speeding cameras along Murtho Road, where police officers are waiting from time to time. There aren’t speed limit signs on the roadsides, but please keep it under 100km/hr.
