Echo Holiday Parks - Naracoorte

We booked three nights but we're leaving early. The room was dirty, with food crumbs all over the floor, so we had to sweep it ourselves, and we had to make our own beds. The beds are really uncomfortable, too, so don't expect a good night's sleep. The whole place feels dated and depressing. What a waste of money. I'm seriously pissed off. Don't waste your money, just keep driving.

The beds were so uncomfortable that we couldn't stay another night and cut our trip short. The standard cabin barely had room for two, let alone three, and the toilet had caked-on urine around the bowl with a disgusting sewage smell. We were disappointed right from the start: my train-obsessed son and I had come all the way from Adelaide for a few relaxing days, but the train wasn't running and wouldn't be for quite some time. We only found out in a tiny disclaimer in the welcome email sent the day before our holiday. The lake looked amazing, but was far too old to swim in while we were there. Corella birds squealed every day from 5am, so there was no peace, though obviously that's not the park's fault. I don't usually complain, but we had saved up for a fun trip and felt let down all round. The person at reception I gave feedback to could not have cared less.

The walk into town is pleasant and easy, and the swimming lake beside the park is perfect. Our cabin was fantastic, while the sites were spacious and laid out really well. The communal areas were clean and inviting, and the staff were very friendly when we arrived. They even helped us book accommodation for next year. One of the nicest caravan parks we've stayed at.

There was a lovely looking swimming hole nearby, though I didn't have time to try it. The park was clean and quiet, with roomy sites, clean facilities, mini golf and a little train on site. It's also not far from the town centre. I'll be back.
