The place felt grotty, and it was the most expensive accommodation of our two weeks travelling, as well as the worst. From outside, our view was a neighbour’s rubbish-filled backyard because the fence was missing. There are seven units, but we seemed to be the only guests. Even so, after I parked in space 3, the owner told me to move because someone was supposedly coming to unit 3. Nobody arrived. The check-in was confusing. The man at the counter, Nan, was vague and charged $1,980 instead of $198, which I luckily caught and had corrected. He gave me keys to room 3, then warned me to ignore its dripping bathroom tap, while repeatedly calling it room 2. I couldn’t turn the tap on, so he came back and managed it, but said I’d need to turn it off very hard. I have bad wrists and couldn’t do that, so I asked to change rooms. Room 2 was disgusting: the basin and toilet were dirty and marked, the rubbish bin was still full, and there were only two teaspoons for cutlery.

The room was tidy and clean, but the bathroom leak kept me awake. Water was splashing from the shower onto the tray and floor, and the shower wouldn’t turn off. I put a towel in the shower and shut the bathroom door to muffle the noise, but still couldn’t sleep properly. The screen door had been left open, and the leak had clearly been going on for some time: the taps were tightened so much that I could hardly turn them to use the shower. This badly needs a plumber. 😔

The room was immaculate, and it was a pleasure to find one that welcomed pets. Hans communicated well, gave practical help and recommended local businesses. My only gripe is the pet cleaning fee, even though our animals are cleaner than every kid we know. It is what it is. Would I recommend it or stay again? Yes to both!

Friendly host, and it’s handy that pets are welcome, though there’s an extra fee. The little motel is showing its age and has a few maintenance issues.

Beds were comfortable and everything inside was VERY CLEAN. They’d left fresh instant tea and coffee sachets, milk and biscuits, and dogs are welcome too. It’s a budget-style motel with friendly staff. The price felt a little high, though I can see how being dog-friendly might push it up. 3 1/2 stars, and I was very comfortable.
