We needed somewhere to stop on the way to Melbourne and booked Bishop’s Lodge at the last minute. It was peaceful and spotless, and the staff made us feel welcome. A great place to get some rest. We’ll book again on our next trip through.

We’d stayed here before, but after this visit we won’t be coming back. The manager told us where to park, and we followed those instructions. While we were out at dinner, another guest complained and the manager called asking us to move the car. When we returned to sort it out, that guest yelled abuse at us in the car park. The manager didn’t step in or take responsibility, and let it continue. There was no consideration for us as guests. We’ll camp next time. Wouldn’t recommend it.

The host was pleasant and helpful, and I could park my large trailer off the street since a few rooms were empty. The place had the basics, was clean, and the bed was more comfortable than I usually find at motels.

We had plenty of space, with a king bed, a single, a couch, and a table with two chairs. It was a comfortable room. The welcome at reception was friendly and helpful, and the location worked well too. Local pubs were only a short walk away for dinner and a drink. Everything we needed.

The internet worked well and the bed was okay, but the motel itself feels old and badly needs renovating. There isn’t even a sink in the bathroom. It was fine for a quick night, but cost about 50% more than similar or better places in town. I chose the most expensive one because I thought it would be the best. That was a bad call. The booking.com photos make it look much nicer than it is, hats off to the photographer.
