Town and Country Motel

Jason’s beautiful music added to the atmosphere, and despite the hot, humid weather on the deck, we had a very pleasant evening. Thirty-six members of our group met at Town and Country Restaurant for our Christmas party last night. Feedback was mostly positive about the attentive service, three-course meal and drinks. Special dietary requests were handled efficiently. Thanks to Jamie and the staff. Yes, we’d come again.

I barely slept because the bed sloped badly and the air conditioner was noisy. There were stains on the spare pillows, the room looked very dated, and the TV was small. We left early so the room wouldn’t spoil our trip completely, but were still charged for the second night. When I called to complain, the hotel said we had to give 24 hours’ notice. We were only there for two days and couldn’t know how bad the room was until the first night. For the price, it should have been much better. Very disappointed, and we should’ve listened to the other online reviews.

We wanted somewhere near Metricon Stadium with public transport options, and this location worked well. It’s right by the M1, but road noise was negligible. The room was clean and well appointed, and smelled as if it had recently been renovated. A great place to stay.

We checked out after one night, even though we’d booked four. They wouldn’t refund the unused nights, including two we cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice. Breakfast was another letdown: they couldn’t get egg and tomato on toast right. The bed sagged so badly we kept rolling into the middle, some pillows had stuffing hanging out, and the blankets looked about 20 years old. The shower seemed recently renovated, but its shelf was right where you kept banging into it as you moved. Add freeway noise all night, and we barely slept. One of the worst motel stays we’ve had.
