I only stopped for one night, and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. The location right on the water is brilliant, and the restaurant served great food. The young woman who greeted me on Mon May 4 in the afternoon checked me in and showed me around. She was friendly, welcoming and genuine, and I hope the business appreciates her. I couldn’t work out the TV in time to watch the 6pm news, but that wasn’t the establishment’s fault.

The bistro has a great choice of food for lunch and dinner, and the venue itself is in a lovely spot opposite the northern end of Lake Macquarie. There’s an appealing outdoor area, clean amenities and an interesting gaming room where patrons are offered drinks and snacks. Staff were friendly and considerate, and the atmosphere felt genuinely welcoming. A gem I’d recommend.

The bistro had a great range and service, though if you order steak and want it cooked beyond rare, check it before you start eating. We stayed four nights, in a room facing the east side street, second from the end. The bathroom looked new, and although they said the room wouldn’t be made up daily, we got fresh towels and emptied bins each day. Road noise was loud, especially with a door that didn’t seal fully, so we used the air conditioning as white noise. There’s live music at the pub below on weekends, and you can hear it in the room. WiFi and reception were poor. The location is great with lake views, and Ally Expresso across the road is handy for coffee. Parking is limited, but you can park next door behind the shops.

We had a quiet Sunday dinner here for our anniversary, and the staff were really friendly. The pulled beef brisket bao buns were a delicious 10/10 starter. My partner’s Beef ragu was full of flavour too. I had the scotch fillet with mash and veg, which was great, though it came out more raw than I expected. We were both pretty stuffed afterwards, and there was a good selection of drinks.

Waking up to the lake across the road was really calming, and the location couldn’t be better. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Brody, a very friendly manager. The rooms were immaculate, and the restaurant meals were amazing. Everyone we met in every department had a humble, friendly vibe. It was a pleasure meeting them all. Couldn’t fault the stay, and we’ll definitely return. Thanks to everyone.
