Punthill Maitland

Secure parking was a big plus, and it was easy to walk to the station. There are lots of restaurants and pubs nearby for a good meal. The location was perfect, and the rooms were really nice and comfortable. I absolutely loved my stay! 😍🚗😋

Claudia at reception and Leanne, the lovely housekeeper, both made an impression. The room stood out for its style and design. The King bed was comfortable, and we had a quaint outlook. If you're coming to Maitland, this is the place to stay.

I enjoyed seeing Maitland celebrated through the photographic art, especially in the street level reception. It inspired me to visit the beautiful mid century Maitland Library from 1968, designed by Walter Bunning. The town has so much well preserved historic architecture. This hotel sits on Maitland’s main street, with restaurants an easy walk away, and the rooms are clean and attractively furnished. At $234 a night, I did find the king sized mattress could use a topper, the pillows need replacing, and the towels were a bit thin. Otherwise, the rooms have what you need for a stay. Parking costs an extra $20 and has to be booked ahead because there are more rooms than spaces. Street parking out front is free on Sundays, so you don’t really need the hotel parking for a Saturday night stay.

There was a cockroach in my room at midnight, and there were no pet cleaning supplies in the room in case of an emergency. The apartment had two bedrooms but only one toilet, and checkout at 10am was earlier than I expected. The living room had no tissues, there were no toothbrushes or slippers, and the bathroom had no cup for my toothbrush. Reception didn't pick up my room service call or call me back. Most of all, the reception staff on the afternoon of 30th Dec had a poor attitude, which I didn’t expect. The room name on the card holder was wrong too. I’m not called Roza, to be honest.
