Oasis Newman

After a long day of mining work, the clean, modern, well equipped rooms made for a comfortable place to relax. The Oasis mining camp in Newman is pleasant and well maintained, and the dining areas, recreational spaces, and on site services are all high quality. Staff were professional, attentive, and ready to help, which made the atmosphere feel friendly and safe. The place is well organized, with a strong team spirit. I highly recommend it for reliable accommodation and a pleasant living environment in the mining region.

The food was great, but the facilities feel a bit small for how large the camp has become. The room I was moved to still had a few bugs on the bed each day. In the first room, bugs were everywhere: I felt one fall from the ceiling onto my back, and when I turned on the light, I found hundreds on the ceiling, walls, floor, shower, bed, and pillow. They moved me to another room, but at least three other people told me they’d had the same problem, apparently because of the camp’s location.

The food was very good. When I first opened the door, the room smelled rotten, like a sewer, and needed airing out. That could be fixed. The cleanliness has dropped a lot: the bathroom floor had water issues, visible stains that clearly hadn’t been scrubbed off, and I could feel leftover chemicals on the shower floor. Next time I’ll wear my double pluggers in the shower. Basic room maintenance would help.

Staff delivered really good service, and the food was above average. The rooms need improvement, though, and the showers and toilets are disgusting. I was also burned by a light bulb, and never even got a reply to my email about it. Thank you.
