The coastal setting is a big part of what makes weddings here memorable. The lighthouse has history and character, and the cliffs, beach, rock platforms and ocean views offer plenty of variety for photos without having to travel far. You can also book to go inside the lighthouse and use its balcony for some unusual shots. I’ve photographed a few weddings at Norah Head Lighthouse over the years, and it’s always a beautiful place to work. The light and landscape give it a relaxed, scenic feel that suits a small ceremony, an elopement or a laid-back seaside wedding.

We walked down to the rocks and along the coastline, and the scenery was especially beautiful around golden hour. The lighthouse looks stunning, as if it’s been freshly painted, and the views from there stretch out impressively.

We dropped by this lovely old lighthouse on the coast on our way out to lunch. It’s very well cared for, and the view from the top is great on the guided tour. Definitely worth a visit.

You can take the stairs at the end of the lighthouse down close to the water. There’s also a car park, toilets, benches and the other basics, making this a great place to visit on the Central Coast.

There’s parking near the lighthouse, though the access road is dirt. We left the car about 10 minutes away and walked along the road because there’s no footpath. The lighthouse is lovely, and a path leads from it to a beautiful beach. Tours are available, but we didn’t buy tickets. We only went in and out.
