Watching whales pass by, hearing the waves and birds, and taking in the sunrises and sunsets made this one of my most enjoyable holidays. In winter, we used the gas patio heater to sit outside and photograph the stars after moonset. It was bitterly cold up there at midnight, but a magnificent experience. Tracey, the manager, was so friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. We stayed in the Head Lighthouse Keepers cottage, a lovely, large heritage house. It has three bedrooms, a big kitchen, dining room, sitting room with a gas log fireplace, a bathroom with an excellent shower, and wonderful beds. The verandah goes around half the house, with its main side facing the lighthouse and sea. There’s outdoor dining furniture and deck chairs too. The outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable, my only criticism. The house isn’t wheelchair accessible, though it isn’t advertised as such. There are three steps at the front, two at the back door and one from the kitchen down to the laundry on the way to the bathroom. Inside, the hallways are wide enough for a wheelchair and the rooms are spacious.

A unique, amazing holiday. The accommodation is set up well for a comfortable family or friends trip, and the position and views are great.

Built in 1903, this place felt like stepping back in time. The people were lovely, and the flat layout and pretty white picket fence made it very child-friendly. The beach is only a short walk away, and the lighthouse tour was included during our stay. Two thumbs up 👍👍

The kids had a great time in the backyard. It’s a beautiful place to stay, with huge rooms and plenty of room for everyone.

The beach looks great from here, and walking along the rocks below is lovely. It’s a shame drones aren’t allowed in the area, since you could get some awesome shots.
