Coral Sea Retreat

The Coral Sea outlook from the tropical gardens is lovely, and the rooms were clean, tidy and cheerful. We had the indoor-outdoor recreational lanai pavilion almost to ourselves most of the time, thanks to there being only one other guest room. There’s also a second pavilion near the suites, handy when you want a bit of space while the main pavilion or pool is in use. Oak Beach is stunning and may well be yours to enjoy alone, while Port Douglas restaurants are only a short drive away. The hosts are a lovely family, and the house was designed in a contemporary tropical style by a renowned local architect. It feels a bit like Robinson Crusoe, with all the modern comforts. I’d definitely come back for a break from the world.
