Ocean Grove Chalet

We stayed in Rm 9 for three nights and paid for it, but got only 2 x tea, coffee & sugar. The second bedroom’s two single beds looked untouched, with wrinkled sheets and make cup stains. Used towels were hanging behind the bathroom door, and there was a small container of food left in the fridge, while the freezer had frozen over into it. The lift didn’t work, so we carried our luggage up two flights of stairs. No one was on site during our stay. We reported all this by phone and email on day one and got no reply.

The stay was disappointing. Our rooms were small and limited, and the lift got stuck several times, leaving us unable to get out. The pool and spa weren’t warm at all, and the spa was difficult to use.

The room was tiny, with a bad mattress, and felt like being packed into a sardine can. Don’t be taken in by the photos, it costs too much for what you get. For a king room and spa, $200 should be the maximum. Disappointing.

There was no view from our room, and the rooms felt depressing. Only two rooms overlook a main road. The pool area was just as bleak, with artificial grass and no view, and felt claustrophobic. We booked four nights but left after two. Very disappointing, and I won’t return.
