The room and gardens were nice, and the pool was a good size. But construction right outside our room ran from early morning to late evening, with unbearable jackhammer noise and vibration. Nobody warned us when we booked. We reserved three days and left after a rough two. When I asked reception about moving farther from the work, she laughed, said she'd speak with the manager, and later they offered breakfast as compensation. There was a power outage for a few hours when we arrived, and our restaurant meal was very average. They wouldn't refund the final night because we hadn't given 48 hours' notice.

The rooms are well equipped, with full kitchens, and the staff are nice. It isn't cheap, but in a remote place like Onslow, that kind of quality comes at a price. I had a delicious pizza from the restaurant for dinner, though I wish it had been bigger. A beach-facing room has great views, and this would be a good place for a couple.

We stayed for work and finished two hours after checkout. They agreed to charge a late checkout fee, but the invoice showed a full night's stay instead. The hotel was mostly empty. I called to ask about the charge and was told someone would ring me back, but nobody has. Pretty disappointing to pay $900 for rooms we didn't use.

The food has been really hit and miss. A month ago both steaks we ordered were overcooked and had to go back. This time we ordered a Hawaiian pizza and got cheese instead. The same pizza came back with ham and pineapple added on top of the cheese, and the base was chewy, maybe microwaved. There was no cheese on top, so the toppings kept falling off every time we picked up a slice.

The water views were beautiful. We had breakfast here, with my husband getting eggs Florentine and me having smashed avo on sourdough. Yumm yumm yummo. We enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner and weren't disappointed. When you're in Onslow, you can't go past this place for excellent service and food.
