Le Dar

Le Dar was very clean, but basic, and only 1/2 house. The bathroom looks lovely, though the design means water gets everywhere, with no shower screen or proper bath mats. The towels felt like sandpaper. There's no sink in the kitchenette, so washing up in the bathroom is awkward and even filling the kettle is really hard. The fridge is noisy and freezes everything. We had to feel around in the dark for switches because there was no hall light. The bed is very firm, with cheap flat pillows and very thin sheets. The electric blanket is upside down, leaving its controls at the foot of the bed so the cords can reach the outlet, which creates a trip hazard. The lounge room is tiny and not set up well, even if you can get the TV working.

I booked for the location, but the owner unexpectedly moved me to another property far from where I needed to be. When I called about it, he offered a refund for the inconvenience. I still haven't seen the money, even though the booking was back in June 2023.

I was promised a tax invoice, but this accommodation can't provide one. If you're staying for work, you won't be able to claim the cost back from your employer. It's pretty frustrating to be out $354, especially for my family on one income.

A lovely, modernised little homestay with comfortable bedding, tucked away somewhere very quiet.
