I’d happily recommend Orpheus Island, and we’d return in a heartbeat if it weren’t so far from home. Our two nights felt like a second honeymoon, from the warm welcome right through to the heartfelt goodbye before we flew out by helicopter. We always felt cared for and welcome. Jack put together an unforgettable “Dining with the Tides” experience, and I hope his sommelier dreams come true. Nick also deserves thanks for flying us safely to and from the island. The snorkelling tour with Laughlin was fantastic and full of memorable moments. The restaurant food was outstanding. If it were in Europe, I’m sure it would earn a Michelin star. Our room was refreshed every time we returned and thoughtfully set up for the night, with even a pot of tea waiting. The laundry service was fast and impeccable too. Our sincere thanks to everyone, from the restaurant and bar team and chefs to the gardeners who keep everything looking stunning, and all the people working behind the scenes. It was an extraordinary stay.

We came to Orpheus Island Lodge for a long-awaited getaway, just the two of us and no kids, and it really did feel like a second honeymoon. The natural surroundings were so peaceful, and we left feeling refreshed and reconnected, already dreaming of another visit. The place feels calm and luxurious, with genuine hospitality throughout. Our accommodation was modern, spotless and designed to sit beautifully in the island setting. The attention to detail was incredible. Meals felt like celebrations, with divine food, beautiful presentation and top-quality drinks. The service made us feel completely relaxed and cared for. From the moment we stepped off the helicopter, everyone greeted us warmly, and staff went above and beyond. A big thank-you to Chrissy, the manager, whose genuine warmth made us feel special and made the stay even more memorable. A wonderful romantic escape. Highly recommend!

Christine the GM clearly runs a tight ship and has good rapport with the staff, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. The facilities and service were excellent, and everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We especially want to thank Charlie, Chloe, Matilda and both Sarahs. They were always smiling, friendly and ready to go the extra mile.

We had a fabulous time at Orpheus Island Lodge, with experiences that suited us so well. It’s a luxury escape where you can spend the day active with water activities or simply read a good book by the pool. The service and attention to detail were exceptional, the food divine, and the staff friendly and professional whether we were dining or snorkelling. A lovely bonus was spotting whales and dolphins on the way to the local jetty. We went there for a picnic and snorkel in our privately provided boat. It really is an island paradise, and we’ll wholeheartedly recommend it to family and friends. A huge thanks to everyone who looked after us. Would we come back? Absolutely, with a huge grin!

The people were the standout for us. Every staff member was warm, attentive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Their different backgrounds added to the welcoming, global feel. Chrissy, the Kiwi manager, set the tone with her calm efficiency and infectious smile. Everyone we spoke to raved about how she looks after her team, and that care showed in how they treated guests. During our six nights, I spent most of my time outside, taking in the untouched beauty, pristine beach and tide that kept changing along the horizon. We saw black-tip reef sharks and graceful rays in the water, as well as sea snakes, eels, hermit crabs and little fish among the mangroves. On land I tried to befriend the cockatoos and spot bandicoots at night. The infinity pool overlooking the sea was a favourite for swimming, reading and sunset cocktails. We could also take out kayaks, paddleboards, dinghies or a small sailboat whenever we wanted, all included. Exploring the surrounding water at our own pace felt special and peaceful. The food was a daily pleasure. Breakfast was à la carte, with fresh tropical fruit and pastries. Definitely try the crab omelette. Lunch was my favourite, served tapas-style with a different regional cuisine each day. We enjoyed Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean and Japanese food. I’m pretty sure they had to bake extra just to keep my jar of chocolate-chip cookies full. Meals, in-room snacks and a selection of drinks were included, so after we arrived I didn’t have to think about cards or signatures. Our snorkelling trip to the outer reef was another highlight. The corals were vivid, the clams giant, and swimming above sharks and through schools of reef fish in clear water was one of the best snorkelling experiences I’ve had. We also enjoyed the behind-the-scenes lodge tour and were amazed that it runs fully on solar power and so efficiently. There was one downside during the first few days: the music at the lodge and pool felt like the most annoying songs of the last 30 years, plus a lot of odd covers. When the Wi-Fi went down, the music improved dramatically. Whoever had that backup playlist had excellent taste. There’s no Wi-Fi or streaming in the rooms, and the lodge Wi-Fi was out for the rest of our stay, so download anything you might want for rainy weather or quiet evenings. From the moment we landed by helicopter, we knew this would be something extraordinary. Orpheus Island Lodge is pure magic. We can’t wait to come back with the kids so they can discover it too.
