Citysider Apartments

Our host Henrich was so helpful and lovely. He left us a welcome board in the room and gave us good recommendations for the surrounding area when we checked in. He also offers drop-offs to the harbour and airport at very reasonable prices. The place is affordable and comfortable, with pretty much everything you need. Cairns Central Shopping centre is about a 15-20 minute walk away, and the train station and harbour are close too. Highly recommend if you’re coming to Cairns.

The apartment had loads of space for two of us, with a double room and a twin room, and it had everything we needed. We slept really well in the beds. You can also get bath towels for the beach or snorkelling. We arrived around 10 am and were able to check in right away, which we really appreciated. Heinrich and his wife were so helpful and friendly. Happy birthday and happy anniversary to you both! We got 10% off vouchers for the Aquarium, and you can get tour discounts by booking through him. Heinrich also offers transfers, so ask and compare the price with Uber or a taxi. We had no hire car, but the location was still very convenient: about a 12-15 minute walk to cairns central shopping centre and around 25 minutes to the boardwalk. From the balcony, you can wave as the Kuranda rail goes past and watch the beautiful bats glide by at dusk. Thanks for a very pleasant stay.

We spent four nights here with a couple of friends and were really happy with the rooms and facilities. The manager is absolutely lovely, always happy to help and full of good recommendations. The pool was a great temperature, and there are bbqs if you want to use them. It’s a handy 10-15 minute walk to the city centre, or a $10 Uber. I’d definitely stay here again in Cairns.

The rooms were immaculate, and the office manager was a delight, super helpful and welcoming. It’s a budget motel that’s past its prime, but still very functional.
