I’ve stayed at nine hostels in Cairns, and this is the best. The rooms only hold up to four people and smell fresh, which matters to me because some hostels don’t keep them smelling clean. The common areas are clean and well maintained too. There are three kitchens, two large ones and a small one. You can use the little kitchen if you’re more introverted, while the big ones suit people who like socialising. The staff keep them clean. Guests have to label their food, and every Wednesday staff clear unnamed items from the fridge, so it stays tidy and there’s room. The bathrooms are clean and convenient, with four in total. Each has a mirror and a little hanging chair or shelf for your things, which is especially useful for women. The pool isn’t huge, but three to five people can swim at once. I stayed 2.5weeks and really recommend it thereee ☺️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Paul and Chelsea were so welcoming, and I want to thank them for making the stay even better. Dreamtime Hostel is a peaceful, relaxing place and one of the best quiet hostels in Cairns, Australia. There are two kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs, plenty of private bathrooms and showers, and lots of outdoor seating to unwind. It’s an eco-friendly hostel, so air conditioning in the rooms costs extra unless the weather is very hot and humid. For us, it was $1.00 for 6 hours, though some rooms charge $1.00 for 3 hours. It would be handy if the bathrooms had hand paper and rubbish bins. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Such a cute, beautiful little gem of a place. It’s really relaxing, and the staff are great. They even got me a discount on my Great Barrier Reef adventure. Definitely recommend staying here!

The owners are lovely, and the place was quiet at night. It’s close to the trainstation and our dive centre, and everything was really clean, which matters a lot to me. The price was okay, though maybe it could be a little lower. The beds were the main drawback since the mattresses are a bit thin. Still, we had a great time and I’d say go here. One star less for the beds, and maybe for the price too.

We meant to stay for a week and ended up loving it. It was a great experience, with a clean, homely setup and comfortable places to sit everywhere. Paul was a top host too. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
