Redhill Cairns Shared Living – Martyn St - Hostel

I stayed for a few weeks and would definitely return. It’s clean, comfortable, private enough, and close to everything in Cairns. It also costs a lot less than a private hostel room. Julie and Fleur in the office were genuinely friendly and helpful, and made the whole process easy. Management has changed recently, so older negative reviews may not reflect the current place. Five stars from me.

After a year and a half at Mihaven, it really felt like home. I always felt cared for, and the staff were kind, supportive and easy to talk to. Special thanks to Tash for always trying to sort out any problems, along with the office team and cleaners who kept the place spotless and running smoothly. The location was great and day-to-day life was easy there. It was clean and comfortable too. I’m grateful to the whole Mihaven team for making my time so special, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming place where they’ll feel looked after.

The communal areas were cozy and practical, good for relaxing or getting some work done, and the kitchen had everything I needed. The shared setup still offered plenty of privacy, and the accommodation was exceptionally clean. I spent a few days at Mihaven Shared Living and was welcomed right away by friendly hosts and a pleasant atmosphere. It was a great experience. If you want comfortable, good-quality accommodation at an affordable price, I’d recommend it. I’d be happy to come back!

I was charged $350 a week for a small room and just one shelf in the fridge, which felt completely unjustified. The service was terrible too. On one visit, I stood waiting for about ten minutes while staff in the office were gossiping. More seriously, I had a bad feeling they weren't being honest about something affecting a tenant's welfare, and what happened later confirmed my concern. I can't share the sensitive details, but it was extremely disappointing.
