Travellers Paradise Heritage Historical Place - Hostel

Out of all the Cairns hostels I've stayed in, this one's the best. Peter, the owner, is kind, understanding, considerate and caring. The place is so quiet and peaceful, more like staying in a home than a hostel. Most of the time I had the kitchen and the rest of the place to myself. There wasn't the bustle or loud music you get at other hostels, so it was easy to relax.

The place Peter has created is beautiful and quiet, and he clearly cares about it. He's a good, hardworking professional who really looks after the place. Whether you're travelling as a couple, a family or on your own, it's a perfect spot to relax.

I've stayed here several times and every visit has been more than pleasant. Peter pays close attention to keeping the building clean and is accommodating with requests. After checkout, for example, he let me leave my luggage somewhere safe. The rooms are always clean and air-conditioned. It's very close to Cairns Central and within walking distance of the esplanade. I definitely recommend staying here.

The beds were very comfortable, and it was really quiet. I was surprised by how clean and well organised the shared bathroom was, since I was hesitant about sharing. The facilities were super clean and the place felt safe. In the room, there was air conditioning, lovely high ceilings, a window and a fan. The dining area had lots of seating both inside and out, plus two massive fridges, a bar fridge in the room, and three sinks. Peter was very accommodating and let my daughter and me check in an hour early after a long flight and a day of soccer in the sun. Travellers Paradise is worth a visit, directly opposite the Cairns Central shopping centre, about a 12-minute walk from the esplanade and close to public transport. Five stars.
