The room worked fine and the bed linens and towels were good quality. The furniture was okay too, but there was a little rubbish under the bed, and the bathroom tile edges and other surfaces needed a more thorough clean. The rooms feel old and worn, with stained carpet and bathroom walls. Nothing was actually broken, but it felt overpriced for what it was. The town has very few shops, and the only place we found serving a meal was the servicemen's & citizens club. Its restaurant had already closed by 9 p.m. on Friday. After leaving, I was asked to return the key at the desk and comment on the room. The proprietor had seen my Google review and asked me to take it down, offering a partial refund. I said no because I’d rather leave an honest review that might help other people, as I’d want others to do for me. I’d expected more after seeing all the 4+ star reviews, and now I think I understand why there are so many.

Manager Utsav waited until 9 p.m. for us after our 10-hour travel day, and was lovely when we arrived, even offering us drinks. It was a clean, tidy and comfortable enough little place for budget accommodation, and I felt it was a safe stop. The motel has new owners now. Thanks, Utsav, I’d recommend it if you’re passing through.

The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. We also had clean plates and glasses, tea and coffee making things, and a fridge. There was a light breakfast available if we wanted it. The motel is aged, but the owner was sincere and very helpful. After our long day, he and his wife kindly arranged a meal for us. I’ll stop there again on my way back because they were so kind.

Utsav made a real difference, he was welcoming, friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived, and it felt clear he cares about guests having a good stay. At Golden Peak Motel in Peak Hill, my room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, so it was an easy, relaxing place to stop. I’d gladly come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
