King Parrot Cottages

The pool overlooking the paddocks was a real highlight during our January visit, and there are lovely bushwalks nearby along with several pretty towns, cafes, and restaurants just a short drive away. Our group of ten had plenty of room in the quiet bush setting, with comfortable beds and a kitchen well equipped for cooking big meals. This was our second stay, and even though a few weeks have passed, I wanted to leave a review because King Parrot Cottages has something special about it. We had a brilliant multigenerational holiday and are sure to return. Maybe next time we'll come in winter for longer bush walks and some adventure riding.

The young adults loved having the swimming pool and plenty to do, while the rest of us enjoyed the bush walk and the games room. The lodge verandah, with its broad views, became our gathering spot for breakfast and drinks. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the accommodation was clean, well appointed, and laid out nicely. Our mother's group came together to celebrate the 21st birthdays of our children. We stayed at King Parrot in the Lodge and Mannagum cottage, with space for 24 adults, and had a wonderful weekend. Ryan and Nicole were happy to help with anything we needed. Highly recommend.

Our guests who stayed in the cabins were full of praise for the comfortable beds and how well equipped everything was. A few said they hadn't slept so well in ages. Our families spent three days here, with the wedding on the final day, and some relatives are already talking about coming back for holidays. My partner and I are planning future anniversaries at KP too. We knew we'd found our intimate, family-oriented wedding venue as soon as we stepped out of the car at the Lodge & Hall parking lot. The rolling hills and cool, clear air made an immediate impression. A Google search led to an unplanned three-hour drive up the Great Ocean Road, and then to memories we'll treasure as a family. Nicole & Ryan were wonderful throughout the whole process. For 1.5 years they replied quickly and clearly, and they even helped us move furniture around the grounds for the ceremony and reception. I work in hospitality and events, and I really admire their work ethic. We were in excellent hands. May these Gadubanud lands flourish under the Dodson family care, alongside their traditional custodians, for generations to come.

The Lodge worked well for all our different sessions, from workshops to smaller discussions. Its flexible layout made it an inviting space, and everyone remarked on how versatile it was. People also loved the character of the cottages, which added a lot to the retreat. I hosted a Peer Support Group retreat at King Parrot Cottages and felt a sense of calm as soon as we arrived. Even the drive in felt like a preview of the peaceful setting. The cottages were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely connection to the surrounding nature. The greenery and views made a beautiful backdrop for reflection and time together. It felt like a sanctuary where we could unwind and focus on our growth and connections. Our stay was pure perfection, and I'm eager to return for another retreat.
