The Civic Hotel

The food selection is fantastic, portions are generous, and I love the cocktails and the specials, which make it even better value. Using The Pass app here is really convenient too. I can check the specials and earn rewards at this venue and others. The outdoor seating could be better for accessibility. The only standard-height tables and chairs that work for disabled diners are right beside the smoking area, which makes it unpleasant to eat there. It would be great if some of the higher tables were replaced with regular-height seating away from the smokers. Aside from that, it’s a great spot and we’ll keep coming back.

On my first visit to Civic Hotel, William looked after me really well. He was calm and polite behind the bar and made the work look easy. You can tell he’s a veteran barkeep. The pub has a classic feel, with a clear modern revamp, and the onion rings were delicious. A wonderful first experience.

The porterhouse at Civic Hotel was full of flavour and cooked just right. Kabin did a great job with it, and the service was just as good as the food. I’d happily recommend it.

It was an ordinary Wednesday dinner at our local, but the staff really impressed us when our order got mixed up. They went out of their way to sort it out, so we’ll be back, and we’re planning to bring friends along next time.
