We slept incredibly well, thanks to the comfy bed and blackout curtains. The room was spacious with a boutique feel, and the staff were professional and helpful. The hotel is a beautiful example of adaptive reuse, with a high-quality fitout that respects its heritage. Our only regret was that several key places to eat and drink were closed for an extended festive period, so we couldn’t make full use of the amenities.

Our stay was extremely pleasant, with a central but quiet location and a large room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast at the Cafe was excellent, and the staff there were lovely. After flight delays from Adelaide, we got to the Hotel at 12.30am and Concierge Jimmy greeted us warmly and made sure we were comfortable. Housekeeping missed servicing the room on our first day, but a quick call to Concierge sorted it straight away. Thanks to all the great staff.

High tea at The Gran Orient was exceptional, room service was great, and we had a delicious breakfast downstairs. The Fitness room was perfect for keeping up with our routines. After our river walk and shopping, it was lovely to come back to a room that housekeeping had taken care of. We came in late Friday and decided we wanted more space and a view, so we were upgraded to a room with a verandah and amazing views. We’re from the country and enjoyed the street noise. The anniversary welcome bubbles and late checkout were lovely extras. Highly recommend The Melbourne Hotel.

The building is stunning, with its well-kept colonial architecture joined to a modern section in a great pairing. Our room and bathroom were perfectly clean, and I really liked the toiletries. The staff were welcoming and polite. We had a wonderful time at the Melbourne hotel.

Jimmy was a friendly face when we arrived as tired travellers at 12:30am after flight delays. The fitness centre was excellent, and breakfast was outstanding, with very friendly staff. The hotel was great overall, and I’ll definitely return another time.
