Swan Valley Serviced Apartments

We enjoyed our three-night stay. The unit was modern and well equipped, with a separate bedroom, toilet, kitchen and dining area, plus a verandah. WiFi had an issue after we checked in, but it was fixed quickly. The location felt a little isolated, though a minimart and bottle store were a short walk away, and the bus stops were about 500 metres away.

The location was great, and it was private and quiet. But although the place can sleep six, there weren't enough glasses, mugs or dishes, and what was there looked like a puppy had licked it clean. The sliding glass door wouldn't lock, the air con vents were clogged with dust, and oil was dripping from the range hood. There was food under the couch and bed, handprints on most surfaces, and multiple mattresses were soiled.

Other tenants were extremely loud, and we could hear doors closing and slamming. In the room, we found cockroaches in the last few days. The aircon filter was so caked with dirt that the unit was almost unusable and even froze up. Housekeeping took away towels without leaving enough, and there was only one packet of laundry detergent. The listing says there's a washer/dryer, but there wasn't one.

The room and furnishings were badly neglected, with stains and marks everywhere. The couch looked like it had been pulled from a skip, and the curtains and carpets were just as marked up. The kitchen barely had anything in it, so I had to ask for a colander and cutting board. If you stay fewer than seven days, you can request tea bags and fresh towels, but for my six-night stay in a two-bedroom apartment that meant just four tea bags. Check-in was a nightmare: my work travel provider placed me here, but nobody sent the check-in details or told me there was no on-site reception.
