The people staying there, whether long-term or short-term, were really kind and friendly. The kitchen was good and fairly clean, and the location was perfect. If someone made too much noise, the owner kicked them out. You have to call to book. I stayed about a month while Perth hostels and even hotels were nearly all full and charging more than usual. I paid $35 a night, which felt too much for the service and cleanliness. The owner cleaned the shower once a week, sometimes less. With so many guests and that price, the bathrooms should have been cleaned every day or two. The room was okay and had AC, but there was no locker and I couldn't lock the room.

Cockroaches, a stuffy locked-up feel, and a manager I found unpleasant and dishonest, with no care for guests. There's no toilet paper, sheets are restricted, and the blankets are never washed. On Sunday morning the owner does a very quick vacuum without knocking, even if you're asleep. Worst hostel in Australia. Stay away.

It's a small, basic place and you get what you pay for, I guess. The kitchen is nice and fully equipped, but the beds aren't great because you can feel the mattress springs. In summer the rooms get pretty hot, and you can't control the aircon yourself. You can ask the front desk, just not in the middle of the night. I also saw a cockroach in the bathroom.

I had to cancel for medical reasons, but the cancellation service was poor and I didn't get a refund.
