Wombats Bed & Breakfast

The host was really friendly and great, and the house was okay, but the stay was deeply disappointing for what we paid. The advertised continental breakfast was just cereal and bread left on the counter. You had to make it yourself and wash your own dishes. The rooms are tiny, there’s no air conditioning, and having two adults and two children in one bedroom in summer was uncomfortable without cool air. It felt close to a backpackers lodge, not a bed and breakfast. We all slept badly and were uncomfortable. It wasn’t worth the money.

We had a brilliant weekend at Wombats, and the Manager/Owner was caring and helpful. The kids and I were pleased to be welcomed to our apartment with a box of chocolates, though they were ten days past their date and tasted fermented, lol. Thanks, Wombats. Highly recommend.

Laurie at Wombat B&B was very friendly and went out of the way to make us feel welcome. We’d stay there again and recommend it for family groups wanting a weekend getaway. We’d booked online for a quick trip to the Central Coast for family reasons. The place was easy to find, a short distance from the main highway into Gosford. Aldi, Coles, and a family tavern are all nearby.

The place felt strange and creepy, and it was very noisy, so don’t count on getting much sleep. There’s one bathroom shared between four rooms. It’s outdated and overpriced, and breakfast is only a few loaves of bread. As mentioned in a previous post, there’s no air conditioning and the rooms are sweltering. Horrendous. Do yourselves a favour and go elsewhere.
