The seafood basket and beef burger were fantastic, generous, full of flavour, and presented really nicely. The waitstaff were kind too. It was a shame the dinner bar service felt so different from our earlier visit. My wife and I came on the 6th of February and had just missed lunch, but the young woman behind the bar was so friendly and accommodating. She offered us coffees and even ice cream to tide us over until dinner, and had great bar banter. When we came back for dinner, the young man behind the bar wearing a headscarf was rude and sarcastic, and spoke down to us. We felt like a nuisance during his shift, which left us uncomfortable and unwelcome. Hospitality needs patience and professionalism. We really appreciated the earlier service and the good meal, but after that dinner interaction, I’m not sure we’d return if it happened again.

The nachos we had for entree were perfect, easily the best part of the meal. The setting is beautiful, with lovely scenery and views, and the hotel had a great atmosphere and service. My wife’s garlic prawns were overcooked and chewy. I ordered a medium rare steak, but it came out medium, tough, and very chewy, like it had been cooked too quickly. Next time we’ll come for brunch and stick to nachos and a drink. It’s a fabulous, romantic location.

I’ve been here to eat a few times, and I love the place. Such a great country pub, with a lovely atmosphere and service. The food is out of this world, and I love the drinks too. Loooove.

We sat outside for dinner on Saturday and had a lovely view of the jetty and water. The staff were friendly, and the meals were delicious. Do yourself a favour and get the wedges and butchers cut 😋

That crispy skin salmon with gochujang sauce was a winner, smoky and punchy, with a cheeky little kick. The steak was cooked just right too, and the gravy was hot with the butter melting. Proper pub chips, none of those skinny city ones. Both dishes were excellent. We’d driven up the coast with the wind whipping around and pulled into the Port Broughton pub. There’s an old-school verandah, cold beers, and a relaxed vibe, with sea air while you eat. The staff were cruisy, and it felt like country SA hospitality at its best. Five stars. I’d make the drive back for that salmon alone. 🐟🍺
